Terms & Conditions

Last updated 5 September 2026

These terms govern your use of this website and any enquiry, registration, or purchase you make through it. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who these terms are with

The website is operated by Anjan Ghosh Photography (“we”, “us”, “our”), the photography practice of Anjan Ghosh, based in India. “You” means anyone visiting the site or making an enquiry, registration, or purchase through it.

Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact form.

2. Using the website

  • Use the site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm it, other visitors, or our work.
  • Do not attempt to probe, scrape at scale, overload, or interfere with the site, its forms, or its media files.
  • Do not submit false, misleading, or infringing information through any form.
  • We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of the site without notice, including workshop listings and prices.

Content is provided for general information. Workshop dates, edition availability, and prices shown on the site may change; the details we confirm with you in writing are the ones that apply to your booking or order.

3. Intellectual property

Unless a credit says otherwise, every photograph, text, design element, and page layout on this site is owned by Anjan Ghosh or used under licence. All rights are reserved.

  • You may view the site for personal, non-commercial use.
  • You may not copy, download at resolution, reproduce, publish, train a model on, or commercially exploit the photographs or text without our prior written permission — including screenshots used as stock, in advertising, or in print.
  • Low-resolution sharing of a page link (for example on social media) is welcome; passing off the images as your own is not.
  • A print or book purchase gives you the physical object, not the copyright in the image. Reproduction rights are licensed separately, in writing.

To licence an image or commission new work, use the contact form.

4. Commissions and collaborations

Sending an enquiry does not create a commission. A project exists only when we have agreed scope, fee, usage, and timetable in writing (email is enough). Usage of commissioned photographs is limited to what that agreement describes. We retain copyright unless the agreement expressly assigns it.

5. Workshops

Registering interest through the site is a request, not a confirmed place. No payment is taken on the form. We follow up by email or WhatsApp with payment details. A seat is confirmed only when we have received the agreed payment and written to you to say so.

  • Workshop descriptions, dates, locations, group sizes, and fees on the site are indicative until confirmed.
  • You are responsible for your own travel, visas, insurance, and equipment unless we say otherwise in writing.
  • Cancellation, transfer, and refund terms for a given session are set out in the confirmation we send after payment. If you need to cancel, write to us as soon as you can.
  • We may cancel or postpone a workshop (for example if numbers are too low, or for weather, illness, or events beyond our control). If we cancel, we will refund the workshop fee we have received. We are not responsible for your travel or hotel costs.
  • Photographs made during a workshop remain yours. We may photograph the group for documentation and teaching; tell us in advance if you do not want to appear.

6. Recorded sessions and resources

Access to paid recordings and downloadable resources is personal. An access code is issued for a named email address after offline payment. Sharing the code, the signed video link, or downloaded files is not allowed.

  • Do not record, redistribute, or publish the sessions.
  • Access may be withdrawn if a code is shared or abused.
  • Recordings are provided as-is; we do not guarantee they will remain online indefinitely, though we will give reasonable notice if a title is retired.

7. Prints and publications

Prints and books are sold by enquiry, not by an automated checkout. Availability, size, substrate, edition number, price, and shipping are confirmed before you pay. Payment is by bank transfer or UPI.

  • Limited editions are sold in the sequence we allocate at the time of confirmed payment. Once an edition is exhausted, it will not be reprinted in that form.
  • Colours on screen will not match the print exactly. That is not a defect.
  • Prints are typically shipped rolled in an archival tube via tracked courier. Risk passes when the courier collects the parcel, unless we agree otherwise.
  • Because prints are made to order or drawn from a numbered edition, we do not accept returns for change of mind. If a print arrives damaged, photograph the packaging and the print and write to us within seven days of delivery so we can arrange a replacement or refund.
  • Customs duties and import taxes on international shipments are your responsibility.

8. Payments

This website does not process card or UPI payments. Any fee we quote is paid by the method we send you (typically bank transfer or UPI). Until funds have cleared, we are not obliged to reserve a workshop seat, ship a print, or issue an access code. Prices may be quoted in Indian rupees or another currency; the written quote controls.

9. Testimonials and other submissions

If you submit a testimonial, you confirm that it is your genuine opinion and that you have the right to send us the text and any photograph. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to edit for length and to publish the testimonial on this site and in related materials (for example a workshop page or printed leave- behind). Submissions stay unpublished until we approve them. You may ask us to take a published testimonial down; we will do so within a reasonable time.

10. Newsletter

Signing up is optional. We will send studio news, new work, workshop dates, and similar updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle your address.

11. Third-party sites

The site links to social profiles, publications, maps, and video hosts. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for them.

12. Disclaimer

The site is provided “as is”. We take care with the work shown and the information published, but we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful code, or that every description is complete at the moment you read it. Nothing on the site is professional advice outside photography itself.

13. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data, or opportunity, arising from your use of the site or from a delay or failure in a workshop, shipment, or recording that is outside our reasonable control.

For a confirmed workshop, print, book, or recording, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that item. These limits do not affect liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

14. Changes

We may revise these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top is the current version. For a booking or order already confirmed in writing, the terms we sent you at confirmation continue to apply to that booking or order.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Kolkata, West Bengal, have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any consumer-protection forum that has mandatory jurisdiction over a dispute.
