A festival of colour, seen through the faces and fleeting moments that stayed with me.
About this series
Photographer’s note
I have photographed Holi many times, but I keep coming back to the faces. In the middle of all the noise and colour, someone will pause for a second and look straight at the camera. Those are the moments I remember. This series is made up mostly of children I met during the celebration. Some were eager to be photographed; others seemed curious about why I had stopped. I stayed close and let each encounter unfold. The colours are part of these photographs, of course, but it is their expressions that make me want to look again.
