2025 — Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India
A visual journey through the river, rituals and human stories of Varanasi.
About this series
Kashi is a city where life and eternity seem to exist side by side. Along the banks of the Ganges, every morning brings a different story—boats crossing the river, pilgrims immersed in devotion, workers beginning their day, and quiet moments unfolding between rituals. Through this series, I have tried to look beyond the familiar images of Varanasi. Instead, I looked for the small gestures, fleeting encounters, silhouettes and moments of silence that reveal the human character of the city. These photographs are not simply about a place. They are fragments of life in Kashi—where faith, tradition, labour and everyday existence continue to flow together with the river.
