2025 — Rural Bengal, India
A quiet afternoon of childhood, colour and simple village life.
About this series
Winter in rural Bengal has a particular rhythm. The sunlight is soft, the air is calm, and everyday life often unfolds slowly in the open spaces of the village. In this photograph, a group of children find their own world of play with something as simple as a balloon. There is no elaborate setting, no performance and no staging—just the natural happiness of childhood. I am drawn to these quiet, unscripted moments because they reveal something universal. Childhood does not need much to create joy. A little colour, a patch of sunlight and the freedom to play can become an entire world. Through my photography, I try to preserve these fleeting moments of everyday life—the gestures, expressions and small encounters that might otherwise disappear with time.
